THE "ISLAM AND SCIENCE" CONFERENCES CONTINUE...
The last of the conferences we began organizing at
the Brunei International Book Expo in 2001 was held in London
on the 14th of August. The speakers who attended the conference,
sponsored by the Abrar Islamic Foundation, set out their views
on the Islamic perspective on science. They explained that in
many verses of the Quran God has commanded people to think, to
research and to learn, and that the Prophet Mohammed has also
drawn attention to the importance of this subject in his sayings.
It was furthermore established that the Quran represents a source
of guidance for science.
This important conference made extensive use of the
books The Quran Leads the Way To Science and Miracles of the Quran,
both by by Harun Yahya, who has written more than 200 works. The
main speaker's views on the subject of science and Islam were
as follows:
"Science" offers a method by which the
universe, and all the beings therein, may be examined to discover
the artistry in God's creation, thereby communicating it to mankind.
Religion, therefore, encourages science, adopting it as a tool
by which to study the subtleties of God's creation.
Islam is the religion of reason and conscience.
A person recognizes the truth proclaimed by religion through the
use of his wisdom, and derives conclusions from the world around
him through the use of his conscience. A person using the faculty
of his reason and conscience, upon examining the features of any
given object in the universe, even though he is not an expert
in such matters, would understand that it was created by a Possessor
of great Wisdom, Knowledge and Might.
In the Quran, God calls on people to reflect
upon and examine the signs of creation around them. Everyone who
probes the inner-workings of the universe, living and non-living
things, and considers and investigates what he sees around him,
will come to know God's superior wisdom, knowledge, and eternal
power…
The speakers, who established the connection between
Islam and science and the relevance of that connection, pointed
out that all Moslems, and indeed everyone, have the following
responsibilities:
At this crucial point in history, we Muslims
have important responsibilities. Thanks to globalization, the
world is turning into an arena of ideas where all frontiers have
been lifted, and in this environment we Muslims, the representatives
of the true religion, need to wage a great cultural and scientific
struggle in order to defend and spread the truths of Islam.
Muslims must not appear as at odds with the world,
as inward-looking and hard people. On the contrary, they must
lead the way for the whole world in morality, science, thought
and art.
Since the only solution is Qur'anic morality,
a great and important responsibility falls to people of good conscience
to explain the Quran to everybody and to wage a scientific fight
and make a great effort to do away with the Darwinist, materialist
thought that opposes the Quran.
Of course it is only our Lord God who can bring
this fight to a successful conclusion.

RELIGIONS DENOUNCE TERRORISM
Conference Bulletin
The conference entitled 'Religions Denounce
Terrorism' has been successfully accomplished in Istanbul on June
23, 2003. About 200 invited guests, all prominent members of various
religious communities and organizations, from a a wide range of
countries like Turkey, Russia, Bulgaria, Israel, The United States,
Italy or France was present at the meeting. Several Turkish MP's
and politicians were also among the audience.
The picture that shows some of the speakers, Christian,
Jewish and and Muslim clerics together with Mr. Yavas, the SRF
president. Nearly all the speakers mentioned the importance of
human life in monotheistic faiths and took a powerful stance against
terrorism and extremism. The fact that all the three Abrahamic
faiths share the same belief in the Creator and the common moral
values was also stressed. In Mr.
Yavas' speech, the materialist philosophy and Darwinism
was also pointed as a common adversary that all theists should
stand against.

Field reports from the latest Harun Yahya conferences
in Indonesia.
 8th,
March
First conference was held in Anggrek Room, National Stadium Palace Soekarno,
Jakarta with the topic of "Miracle in Creation of Man" which
was attended by more than 500 visitors.
 9th,
March
The second one was about "Unveiling Historical Facts in the Light
of the Qur'an" (Perished Nations) and held in Cilegon Islamic Center
in Banten. Around 400 people were present to attend the conference.
10th March
The visit to the College of Al-Azhar that is one of the most qualified
schools in Jakarta was held with the attendance of a lot of lecturers.
The school administration emphasized that their target was to rewrite
their entire curriculum according to Harun Yahya's works.
The topic of press conference in Sari Pan Pacific Hotel, Jakarta was
"Why Evolution must be refuted?" The author and its works
had been presented to the mass media.
 At
the same day after another meeting with press, a conference was held
with the participation of guests, mostly academicians. The topic was
"Unveiling Darwinism and Scientists' Responsibility of Communicating
the Fact of Creation". The president of the official science institution
of Indonesia also participated to this event.
11th March
A 45-minute long live radio program was aired at Radio Dakta, the topic
being the works of Harun Yahya and their global impact. Many from the
audience connected to the program and asked their questions.
 The
same day a conference was held at Anggrek Room, National Stadium Palace
Soekarno, Jakarta with the topic of "Evolution in Scientific Perspective
and Its Global Impact". There was a very interested audience.
12th of March
A conference with the title of "The Facts of Creation Demolished
Darwinism" was held in Jakarta's Faculty of Economics Auditorium
at the Indonesian University, which is known as the most qualified university
of the nation. After the conference, many students made comments supporting
the works of Harun Yahya and the case against Darwinism.
13th March
At Jakarta-National Library (Perpustakaan Nasional RI) a conference
was held about "Teaching the Theory of Evolution". Around
300 high-school lecturers participated to the event.
Also the head of the Education Commission, Mr. Sukesti Martono, attended
to this conference.
 16th
March
A conference was held at Buana Putra Pertamina Cinema Hall on the "Miracle
of Birth and Creation". There was a great interest with approximately
600 participants.
The same evening the author and his works were presented in a seminar
at the Istiqamah Mosque to 140-150 people.
At 19th of March
Two programs about the "Truth of the Life of This World" and
the "Creation of Man" had been recorded at the most popular
TV channel of Indonesia; the Jakarta Television, They were to be aired
on TV in about 10 days.
A conference on "The Fall of Darwinism" organized in Istanbul
in April 1998 by the Science
Research Foundation (Bilim Arastirma Vakfi); an organization
which has announced Harun Yahya as its honorary president. |
Harun Yahya's more than 190 works have been translated into a variety
of foreign languages and have reached the hands of countless readers
worldwide. In addition to the books, over 140 national and international
conferences have been held so far to support this great scientific movement
and have received positive feedback from all over the world.
Harun Yahya conferences first began in the author's home country, Turkey.
Between 1998-2000, scientific conferences based on the works of Harun
Yahya were held in 120 different locations in Turkey. According to the
statistics given by the Science and Research Foundation, the organizing
body behind the conferences, the number of the participants reached
as high as 100,000. Furthermore, these conferences were broadcasted
on many television channels in Turkey, and thus reached millions of
people.
A second conference in Istanbul on the "Fall of Darwinism"
by the Science Research Foundation in July 1998. Speakers are well-known
scientists from the US who are critical of the theory of evolution.

Since 2001, Harun Yahya conferences have expanded worldwide. So far,
conferences based on the works of Harun Yahya have been held in many
countries such as Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Holland, Azerbaijan,
Canada, the US and Indonesia. Scholars, professors, university students
and many other people have shown high interest in these conferences
which focus on different topics such as "The Collapse of the Theory
of Evolution", "Miracles of the Qur'an", "The Existence
of God", "The Creation of the Universe" and "Islam
Denounces Terrorism." These conferences were enhanced by a variety
of presentations and video projections. The audience included not only
Muslims, but also Christians, Jews and people of other faiths. The conferences
held in Malaysia, Canada, the US and Indonesia in particular, mostly
in the universities, showed the great interest many people, especially
university students, have in these topics. The fact that a single conference
in Indonesia had some 8,000 participants gives us a significant idea
about the interest the conferences attracted and their effects. The
lecturers, who used texts based on the works of Harun Yahya, were the
center of attention throughout the activities. The interviews and television
programs done with the lecturers also drew a lot of interest.
A recent conference in Lampung, Indonesia, given by speakers from
the Science Research Foundation and attended by more than 4000 people.

At these conferences, where there was no entrance charge, some works
of the author were given away free and question-answer sessions were
held in an atmosphere of cordial conversation. The audience also acknowledged
that the conferences opened new vistas for them, especially for young
people and those in scientific fields. Within the framework of these
conferences and afterwards, various activities were organized by the
students including exhibitions, book reviews and video presentations.
The effects of these activities still continue and people from all over
the world are already demanding to be participants in the conferences
to be organized in the future.
IN ORDER TO REALIZE NEW CONFERENCES…
 If
you would like us to visit your university as lecturers or to organize
conferences, you may contact us immediately. The first thing to be done
should be to determine a conference room by asking permission from the
university board. We can announce the conference, the topic of which
will be decided upon mutually, to a wide audience by means of posters
and other media weeks before it occurs. You may also provide a bulletin
to be published in your school newsletter and, if possible, in your
local or national newspaper or to be broadcasted on TV. You might also
enable the conference to be covered live on radio or TV.

It is essential that you encourage the participation of your university
teachers in addition to that of the students. You can exhibit our books
and posters in your school prior to the conference, and organize video
broadcasts in various venues. You can also inform other academic institutions
in your area or country and encourage them to hold conferences in their
universities as well. It would be a pleasure for us to be lecturers
in foundations, masjids and other organizations that request to participate
in these activities. With your support and efforts, many people will
become aware of great faith- and science-related facts and the new generation
will grow up to be more conscious. Your advice and suggestions on this
issue are of great importance to us.
